This is the first of a series of 4 videos surrounding the idea of I AM, creativity, and learning to be ok with failure.
This series is my first foray into this content format, which in quite a meta way I used as an experiment in stepping to my own creativity.

So I was filming a video series about perfection, and after probably 20 minutes of filming various takes, I realized my mic was off. So I’m gonna do it again, this time without any script.
What perfection really is is a nervous system response to things going wrong, that if we make mistakes, that somebody will criticize us, that we will be seen as less than, and therefore we inhabit the stance of being a perfectionist. In order to protect ourselves from that fear.
In reality, this fear gets in the way of being truly creative. When we allow perfectionism to take hold, good enough never comes into being, and creation never gets into place.
If we want to create realities in which we are allowing our dreams and visions to come to life, we have to let go of perfectionism.
So one empowering way to do so is identifying that it is a feeling. It’s our nervous system going, ah, I’m scared. And it’s okay to be scared. This isn’t about not having that emotion. It will always be scary. It will never fully disappear.
But what we can do is condition ourselves by trying out things that are low stakes enough, and allowing them to be imperfect. Allowing the fear of judgment to play itself out, because if we truly wanna be successful, we’re going to have to learn to be comfortable with failure.
And once we can feel more comfortable in our skin and do that, we open ourselves up to the possibility that I am what I am. And when we are what we are, true creativity comes into being.
