Hello and welcome to a weekly exploration in this shared container.
I’ve had this web space under construction since around last year, and over it’s life I have had a continuous struggle with the shape and format to take hold. As my thoughts, ideas, and priorities shift over time - so does the ideal container to fill them into.
Recognizing that i can’t mull over structure forever I’m deciding today to orient around the one constant - time itself, and therefore kick off this blog with the intent of it being somewhat of a time capsule. A look at where my thinking currently lies that is forgiving enough to allow for imperfection and experimentation, while concrete enough to not allow me to hide behind structural considerations.
The intent to no longer hide is a response to a call to sharing my voice, to learn in the open, and to hopefully illuminate elements of my movement through life in a way that is beneficial to the reader. The desire to share and contribute to the process of others continues to show up in my private thoughts. No matter what else I occupy myself with, I keep coming back to it.
I can only reconcile this as some sort of calling of the heart or purpose of the soul. As I write this I am currently reading the works of James Hillman on the acorn theory - that each of us is born with some sort of “soul code” that dictates our destiny and character much the same way an acorn holds the blueprint for an oak tree. This idea draws on Plato’s Myth of Er, which suggests a guiding spirit or daimon accompanies us and pushes us towards our calling.
This isn’t to suggest that I am crystal clear on where my acorn would like to develop, but I have a little bit of an idea of the combination of soil, water, and sunshine it is looking for, and I intend for this digital garden to be the place where I do some regular watering.
I have taken a path of solitary study, as I have not been able to root myself in communities or groups of people that reflect back the same level of intensity and intent behind what I’m doing. It’s not to say these groups and people don’t exist - I have found inspiration in the works of writers, philosophers, historians, spiritual teachers, and other creators.
At best I hope that the reader who is stumbling along their own life journey may find my words as helpful points of reflection and consideration as they grapple with the questions and circumstances which lay burden upon their own lives. That while we may all walk our own paths, I can perhaps be a friend who walks alongside others, and points out what forks in the road lie ahead, how to manage one’s resources, and where to find a cozy place to rest along the road.
There’s a part of me that holds back from pushing anything out. It demands higher quality, as I feel you as my reader deserve my upfront effort, and I not lose you to vague abstraction. But I have to trust that I am building a muscle that will only get stronger as I put it to use.

This speaks to underlying fears and tensions bubbling up in our emotional spheres - can our ideals of how we wish to show up meet the collective moment with the right level of intensity, or will we fall prey to the dangerous of group think and it’s anxieties?
With Saturn recently retrograde in Aries, opportunity to examine our biggest projects and tasks come to light. How might we revamp or bring new life into something we left by the wayside?
